Bird flu found in beef for the first time, USDA says beef still safe to eat

Bird flu has been detected in beef for the first time, the U.S. Department of Agricultureannounced Friday, but officials said the meat from a single sickened dairy cow was not allowed to enter the nation's food supply and beef remains safe to eat. The USDA said the virus was found as part of testing of 96 dairy cows that were diverted from the supply because federal inspectors noticed signs of illness during routine inspections of carcasses at meat processing plants. Boeing set to launch NASA astronauts into orbit

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — Boeing counted down for its first astronaut launch on Monday after years of struggle. NASA test pilots Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams are set to climb into Boeing's Starliner capsule for a nighttime liftoff from Cape Canaveral to the International Space Station for a weeklong stay.
